By MIKE O'BRIEN

Blue skies, big country: The wide open plains of Montana
It was programmed to take a picture every 90 seconds which was then edited down to four minute 53 second video.

Ever wondered what the highways look like at the opposite end of the country to where you live?

The video Seattle to Maine in 7 Days, which was uploaded to Youtube on Thursday, will give you the answer.

The driver set off from Seattle with his Droid X Motorola phone hooked up at the front in the centre.

Rolling hills: The midwest on a three-lined section of the I-90

It was programmed to take a picture every 90 seconds which was then edited down to four minute 53 second video.

The producer, smithje77, took the simplest route possible, I-90, for most of the journey with only a few detours.

Day one was Seattle to Montana, day two went as far as Wyoming, day three ended up in Minnesota and day four ended in Indiana.

On the climb: The road narrows to one lane each way in upstate New York

On Day five he entered New York, day six ended in Massachusetts and day 7 was a blast through New England to Maine.

From the sweeping plains of the upper western states to lush greenery of the north east, Americans love a road trip.

Or at least they enjoy watching one.

This video had more than 50,000 views in its first day.
